About the place
In the shade of the old trees of the central park in Vrnjačka Banja, by the Music Pavilion, lies the Adventure park: a course where children learn to climb, balance and get over their fear of heights, all while it feels like play. It is run by Family adventure from Vrnjačka Banja, whose team is made up of sports and physical education teachers and people trained for outdoor activities.
Nine obstacles, nine small challenges. Hanging crossings, floats on a cable and wooden walls with holes are set between wooden posts and steel cables. Each obstacle asks for something different: balance, strong arms, coordination or just a little courage for the next step. The obstacles are taken one after another, and the smile at the end of the course is always the biggest.
Safety first. Everyone on the course gets professional equipment, a helmet and a harness, and certified operators guide them through the obstacles. Before the start they explain how the equipment works and stay with the children to the last obstacle, while parents follow the fun from close by.
Who can take part. The rule is height, not age: at least 115 cm. The course is open to anyone who meets it, so parents can have a go alongside their children. For little ones who are shorter there is always the zip line, a ride down a cable that the youngest love.
Half a day of fun in the centre of the spa. Right next to it is the archery range, also run by Family adventure, where children and adults shoot with an instructor, and the Bridge of Love and the promenade are a few minutes’ walk away. The Adventure park fits easily with a stroll, an ice cream and other things to do with children in Vrnjačka Banja.
For the course we recommend comfortable sports clothes and closed shoes. The park is outdoors, so it is worth calling ahead to check that it is open that day. If you are planning a few days in the spa, see accommodation in the centre, within walking distance of the park.
