Vrnjačka Banja International Carnival

The Vrnjačka Banja International Carnival is the spa’s biggest festival and, by visitor numbers, one of the largest in Serbia, alongside Guča and Exit: the national tourist organisation puts it at over 200,000 people. It is held in mid-July, lasts eight days and is run by the Vrnjačka Banja tourist organisation. In 2026 it took place for the twenty-second time.

Every evening has its own programme. Concerts are on Trg kod biblioteke (the square by the library), mostly from 22:00, alongside children’s shows, dance nights and an Afro-Latino show. For children the highlight is the big children’s masked ball, and for everyone else the big international carnival parade, where carnival groups from abroad join local ones on the promenade.

The parade is the carnival’s high point: in 2026 it set off on Saturday 18 July at 20:00 on the promenade. If you want a good spot, come early, as the promenade is at its fullest that evening.

Carnival week is the most sought-after week for accommodation in the spa. If you are coming then, contact a host as soon as you know the dates. From a place in the centre, near the promenade and the square, every event is within walking distance.
