About the place

Goč is the mountain right above Vrnjačka Banja, about 15 kilometres and twenty minutes away by car. Its highest peak, Ljukten, is 1,216 metres, and the mountain is covered in dense beech, fir and spruce forest. Part of it is protected as the Goč-Gvozdac nature reserve.

In summer Goč is for walking and hiking: trails are marked with signboards, there are viewpoints and clearings for a picnic, and the air is noticeably cooler than down in the spa. Two to three hours are enough for an easy walk; for a full day, bring water and shoes for the forest.

In winter there is skiing on a few short slopes, “Krst” and “Mali princ”, with a ski school, which makes Goč good for children and beginners. The mountain is lower than the big ski resorts, so snow comes later and melts sooner: the season lasts about a month, mostly from mid-January to the end of February.

Next to the slopes are the “Horizont” and “Kedar selo” restaurants, for lunch or something warm after a walk. When there is snow on the road, winter tyres are required and chains should be in the car. After Goč you are back in the spa in 20 minutes, at the pool or the spa.
