“Vrnjci” Classical Music Festival

The “Vrnjci” International Classical Music Festival is held in the Castle of Culture. It grew out of the International Music Academy held in July 2001, which followed violin and cello master classes in 1997 and 1998. Its artistic director is Prof. Dr Uroš Dojčinović.

Besides concerts by Serbian and foreign musicians, the festival has a teaching side, with violin and chamber music courses, and exhibitions and workshops round out the programme. In 2024 musicians came from Serbia, Spain, Hungary and Ukraine. In 2015 it was named the most promising regional classical music festival.

The dates move: in 2024 the festival ran from 26 to 30 August, in 2025 from 25 to 30 July. We add next year’s dates once they are published.

This is a festival for a quieter audience, who come to the spa for the music and the park. The castle is in the centre, above the Topla voda spring, so a concert pairs easily with an evening walk.
