On a first visit, and without a car, stay in the centre, around the promenade, the Bridge of Love and the Topla voda spring: everything is a few minutes on foot. If quiet matters more, or you are coming for treatment at a particular spring, pick the areas by the Snežnik, Jezero and Slatina springs, a 10 to 20 minute walk through the park from the centre.

Vrnjačka Banja is a small town in the valleys of the Vrnjačka and Lipovačka rivers, on the slopes of Mount Goč, held together by the spa park and its springs. So the question is not whether a place is far, but what you want: the evening stroll starting at your door, quiet nights, the spring within reach in the morning, or somewhere to leave the car.

The areas at a glance

Distances are measured from the Bridge of Love, where the promenade starts. Walking times are estimates at an easy pace along the park paths, not as the crow flies. Prices are the lowest nightly prices among our listings in each area on 2 October 2026.

  • Centre (promenade, Topla voda, Merkur): up to 5 minutes to everything. The widest choice, places to stay in the centre from €35 a night.
  • Topla voda: the very centre, about 5 minutes from the Bridge of Love, and 3 minutes from the Merkur hospital.
  • Jezero: about 13 minutes on foot, by the park and the lake. Quieter, except in August, when Lovefest is held here.
  • Slatina: about 13 minutes on foot, in the Lipovačka river valley. Places to stay by the Slatina spring from €33 a night.
  • Snežnik: about 18 minutes on foot, up the Vrnjačka river valley, the farthest of the four healing springs. In summer a tourist train runs to it.
  • Akva Park (Raj neighbourhood): by the Raj aqua park, for families who spend summer days in the water. Places to stay by the aqua park from €35 a night.

Whichever area you choose, nights are quiet: cafés and bars close at 1 am, 2 am at the latest, and no part of town is loud. There are hardly any climbs; the only one is a gentle walk up Čajkino brdo, the hill with the old church.

The centre: for a first visit and without a car

The centre is the area around the promenade, the main square and the pedestrian zone, with the Bridge of Love, the Topla voda spring and the Merkur Special Hospital. Restaurants, cafés, shops, exchange offices and the bus station are all here, so you hardly need a car during your stay.

It also has the most places to stay, from studios for two to family apartments. The price is not much higher than in the quieter areas: the lowest nightly price in the centre among our listings is €35, by the Slatina spring €33.

The downside is parking. The streets around the promenade are in the paid zones, charged every day from 7 am to 9 pm, with a limit of two or three hours. If you drive, look for a place with its own parking; zones and prices are in parking in Vrnjačka Banja.

Topla voda and Merkur: for treatment

If you are coming for spa treatment, what matters most is how far you are from the hospital and from the spring your doctor prescribes. The Topla voda spring (36.5 °C) is in the very centre, and Merkur is a few minutes away. The other three healing springs are further into the park, so if you are prescribed water from Snežnik or Slatina, it makes sense to stay closer to them.

Which spring is which, and how the water is drunk: the mineral springs of Vrnjačka Banja.

Jezero: the park at your door

The Jezero spring lies between Snežnik and Slatina, by a small lake and the city park, about a 13 minute walk through the park from the centre. A good choice if you want green space outside and the promenade within reach. There is a shop nearby, and parking on Slatinski venac by the lake is in Zone 2, with no time limit and a day ticket for 350 dinars.

One warning: Lovefest, the biggest festival in town, is held every August in the city park by the lake. If you come those days for some quiet, pick another area; if you come for the festival, this is as close as you can stay.

Slatina: quieter, still walking distance

The Slatina spring is in the Lipovačka river valley, about 13 minutes on foot from the Bridge of Love: away from the crowds on the promenade, yet close enough to walk into the centre. There is a shop nearby for everyday shopping. Among our listings, it has the lowest prices in town, from €33 a night.

Snežnik: farthest from the centre, closest to Goč

Snežnik is up the Vrnjačka river valley, the farthest of the four healing springs from the promenade: about 18 minutes of easy walking through the park. In the warm season a tourist train runs to it from Hotel Merkur, and there is a shop nearby. It suits guests who come to rest and walk, and go into the centre once a day.

Akva Park (Raj): for families in summer

The Raj aqua park is in the neighbourhood of the same name, on three and a half hectares, with family and thrill slides, a lazy river and a wave pool. If you come in summer with children, staying in Raj saves the most time: you walk to the pools instead of driving every day. What locals love and visitors often miss

  • Čajkino brdo: a hill of volcanic rock in the heart of town, protected as a cultural and historical site, with the old Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God from 1834. It is quieter up there than in the park below.
  • Mount Goč: about 15 km away, with fir and beech forests, trails and viewpoints.
  • Lake Selište: a small artificial lake in the Goč area, for a walk away from the crowds.

How to choose: by who is travelling

  • First visit, short stay, no car: the centre. Everything is on foot and the choice is widest.
  • For treatment: the centre by Topla voda and Merkur, or the area of the spring you are prescribed.
  • Family with children in summer: Akva Park in Raj or the centre, with parking at the property.
  • A couple, for quiet and walks: Jezero or Slatina, except in August during Lovefest.
  • For Lovefest: Jezero, as the festival is in the park by the lake; book early.
  • By car, for longer: any area, but always with parking at the property.

What to check when you book

  • Parking: ask whether a space is guaranteed and free. Street parking in the centre is paid and time-limited.
  • Distance: “centre” in a listing does not always mean the promenade. Check the address on the map and the walk to the Bridge of Love.
  • August: during Lovefest prices and crowds go up across town, most of all by the lake.
  • Price: ask whether the tourist tax is included. Typical costs are in what a trip to Vrnjačka Banja costs.
