Mount Goč has a few short ski slopes about 15 km, or a 20 minute drive, from Vrnjačka Banja. Last winter there was about a month of skiing, on the Krst and Mali princ slopes. The season usually runs from mid-January to the end of February, but it depends on the snow, so check that the slopes are open before you go.

Goč is not a big resort and is not trying to be. It is a small, quiet mountain for beginners, children and anyone who wants a day or two on the snow while sleeping in the spa town and heading for a pool or a spa afterwards.

The slopes

There are three slopes on the side of the mountain facing Vrnjačka Banja and two more on the side facing Kraljevo.

  • Krst: one of the two slopes open last winter.
  • Velika staza (“the big slope”): about 500 metres long.
  • Mali princ (“the little prince”): a small slope with a ski school, for children and first-timers.
  • Dobre Vode (Kraljevo side): slopes of about 300 and 1,400 metres and a two-seat chairlift, 1,150 metres long, from 590 to 920 metres above sea level.

Which slopes open depends on the snow and on who runs them that winter, so the list changes from season to season.

When there is snow

The highest peak, Ljukten, is 1,216 metres, lower than the big Balkan resorts. Snow comes later and melts faster: after a warm spell the slopes can close within days. The safest time is mid-January to the end of February.

If you plan a ski trip ahead, book a place with free cancellation, or come to Vrnjačka Banja anyway and decide on the spot. There is plenty to do in town when Goč has no snow.

Getting there from Vrnjačka Banja

  • By car: two roads, the old and the new, about 14–15 km and 20 minutes. Winter tyres are compulsory when there is snow on the road; carry snow chains.
  • By bus: a bus runs from Vrnjačka Banja towards Goč a few times a day. Check the timetable at the bus station, as it changes in winter.
  • By taxi: about 1,500 to 2,000 dinars to the top.

Ski pass, rental and ski school

Prices for the 2026/27 season are not out yet. In January 2025 a day pass on the Mali princ slope cost 1,500 dinars (about €13), a fraction of the price of Kopaonik. We will update this once the new prices are published.

You can rent equipment near the slopes, so there is no need to bring skis. The Mali princ slope has a ski school, which makes Goč a good place for children’s first days on skis.

Where to eat

The Horizont restaurant and Kedar selo are close to the slopes, for lunch or something hot after skiing.

Where to stay: on Goč or in town

There are places to stay on Goč itself, but few, and not cheap: in January 2025 most of them cost over €100 a night. Vrnjačka Banja has far more choice, from about €33 a night.

Staying in town has another advantage: after skiing you are 20 minutes from an indoor pool or a spa, and the evening is a walk in the park. Which part of town to pick: where to stay in Vrnjačka Banja; all listings: places to stay in Vrnjačka Banja.

Goč or Kopaonik

  • Goč: short slopes, few people, low prices, close to the spa town. For beginners, children and a day on the snow.
  • Kopaonik: Serbia’s big resort, with many more slopes and more reliable snow, but higher prices and crowds. For trips where skiing is the main point.
