Spa and wellness in Vrnjačka Banja
Places and offers
What to know
Vrnjačka Banja has several spas that sell day passes, so you do not need to stay at a hotel for a sauna, a massage or a soak in mineral water. They differ in size, price and what is included, so it pays to compare them before you go.
The largest is the Rimski Izvor spa in the Thermal Mineral Bath, run by Merkur: besides a mineral-water pool and saunas it offers spa procedures, from mineral mud treatments to inhalations. Wellness entry is 1,500 dinars. The Tonanti hotel spa in the centre sells a full-day pass for 4,000 dinars, with a towel and slippers, but only Monday to Thursday. Zepterme at the Zepter hotel has a thermal pool at 27–31 °C and a salt room; call to check whether it takes outside guests.
The spas are open all year, so they make a good plan for a rainy day and for winter. They are busier at weekends and on holidays, when some stop selling day passes, so weekdays work better. Massages and treatments are almost always extra and booked in advance.
If swimming matters more to you than a sauna and a massage, see pools and water parks: Vrnjačke Terme has eight pools with water at 32–36 °C. For medical supervision and therapy, see spa treatment.
